Parts
1. 4" X 3/4" bolt
2. 3/4" hex head nut
3. Mallet/hammer
Directions:.
1. Grind the tips on the hex head nut into sharp points that
will each just touch the outer shell of the bearing insert.
2. Put this on bolt tip and squarely put on top of the sharpened
nut squarely on the bearing so each tip rests squarely on the
bearing's outside edges.
3. Strike the top of the bolt squarely with a hammer of
mallet. The bearing should slide down into the prop about an
inch then stop, as the broken pieces jamb inside the prop
shaft hole.
4. Take a long punch or dowel, turning the prop on end, use the
punch to break the bearing parts up in the propeller shaft
hole and send the bearing parts out the end of the shaft hole.
5. Go back and hammer the rest of the bearing into the prop
shaft hole and send those out the end of the prop shaft hole.
This may take 3 attempts.
6. Do this to the remaining 2 bearings. (Don't do all 3
at once of you may have difficulty getting the pieces out of
the prop shaft hole.
NOTE: All the parts should be
available at any local hardware store. If the nut is
ground so the points only rest on the bearing top, it won't
damage the hub. Email with any questions.
